1933 – 2021
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Catherine Dvorak, a long-time resident of Dawson Creek, BC on March 27, 2021 at the age of 87 years. She was born on July 26, 1933 in Toronto, Ontario to parents William Arthur and Margaret Nichol Freeman. She was the elder sister to brother William (Bill) and sister Lynda.
Mary dedicated her professional life to the education of children as a teacher, a principal and a teacher librarian. After she retired from the public school system, she shared her skills with adult ESL students. She was devoted to her family. Mary played the flute for the Dawson Creek Kiwanis Community Band for several years. She served as President for the Parkside Strata Council from 1996-2010.
Mary is predeceased by her first husband George Dvorak, parents William and Margaret Freeman and sister Lynda.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her brother Bill (Rae Ann) her daughter Catherine (Bill) grandchildren Stephanie (Jeremy), Trevor, William (Joelle), great-grandchildren Lyncoln, Brynn, Brooke, Kale, Emma, Tristan, Kaydan, Addison, brother-in-law Roy and many nieces and nephews.
A private family graveside will be held at Brookside Cemetery, Dawson Creek, at a later date.
