Maryanne Morriseau (nee Pelletier), resident of Fort William First Nation died on June 16, 2021.
Maryanne was born in Fort William in 1941 and worked as a nurse and was a single mother, raising 5 children.
A lover of the outdoors, Maryanne was an awesome fisherwoman, could pitch a mean fastball and was an excellent bowler. Her love for her family was forefront in everything she did.
She is survived by her husband of many years ago Ronald Morriseau, her children Michael Pelletier (Jodi), Tracey Morriseau (Benny), Ronald Morriseau Jr (Michelle), Julie Shields (Bob) and Quentin Snider; Grandchildren Jessica, Lucas, Michael Jr, Megan (Kyle), Dylan, Desiree (Nathan), Derek, Alexandra, Paul, Jacob and Kara; Great grandchildren Carmen, Mya, Sienna, Bexley, Audrina, Michael the third, Arianna, Katrina, Nola and one more on the way (thx Des!); Brothers John Pelletier (Ursula), Louis Pelletier (Eleanor), Maurice Pelletier (Donna), Victor Pelletier (Maureen) and Marcel Pelletier (Sherry); Sisters Isabel Legarde, Bernice Pelletier, Judy Morriseau (Larry) and Betty Ann Pelletier. She also has numerous nephews and nieces, Philip being a favourite.
Maryanne was predeceased by her father Frank Pelletier, her mother Catherine Pelletier, brother Bill MacLaurin, sisters Tiny Pervais, Catherine Collins, Frances Morriseau, Patricia Bannon, and Emily Pelletier.
Due to pandemic restrictions, a private Mass at St. Anne’s Church and interment at Immaculate Conception (Squaw Bay) Cemetery will be held at a later date. Donations in memory of Maryanne to the Northern Cancer Research Fund would be appreciated.
