Obituary
Mary M. (Beitel) Kaiser of Calgary, AB, went to be with Her Lord on Sunday, March 21, 21 at 4:25 pm at the age of 95 years. She was born February 1, 1926 in Spring Valley, Sask, later moving to Paddockwood, Sk in 1937 and moved to Penticton BC in 1942. Predeceased by her husband, Rev. Frank Kaiser and granddaughter Katrina, Mary is survived by her one remaining sister Caroline and predeceased by siblings Barbara, Margaret, Theresa, Joseph, Michael, and George. Mary was a loving, caring and praying Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She has 6 children, Elizabeth (Robert), Cynthia (Melvin), Darlene (Wayne), Frank (Edie), Gwen (Ron) and Elaine (Paul), 22 grandchildren, but was predeceased by Katrina, and 30 great grandchildren.
Mary grew up in a large, loving Catholic home. At an early age she desired a deeper, spiritual walk with God and accepted Jesus as her personal Saviour at the age of 16. In 1945, she went to Bible School in Saskatoon. After completing her first year, she went to British Columbia Bible Institute (BCBI) in Victoria and graduated in 1948. She pastored the Pentecostal Church in Lumby, BC for a year and then married Frank Kaiser on May 23, 1951. Frank was enrolled in Bible School. Upon graduation they were called to ministry in Boundary Road Pentecostal Church in Vancouver BC and remained there for nine years. From Vancouver they pastored in Salmon Arm BC for five years. With their six children they moved to Creston in 1968 for 8 years and built a new church building with Mary actively involved in all aspects of ministry. In 1976 they moved to Summerland and pastored for nine years completing another church building and finally completed their pastoral ministry for five years in Alert Bay, BC.
Mary was always actively involved in ministry alongside her husband Frank both in the very practical side, such as the Sunday School Superintendent, catering for large events for the church, painting the new church building and any other tasks required of her. Most of all Mary was a prayer warrior and led many people to the Lord and continually ministered to all those she met. She presented the salvation message to everyone she met including her neighbours, doctors, dentists, grocery clerks……the list goes on, right to her death ministering to the hospital staff. She was very active in the Women’s Ministries in the BC District over the years, as well as children’s directors for the Fraser Valley Children’s Camp and Okanagan Camp with Frank and was a favourite cook at Kootenay Pentecostal Camp.
As her family, we have been blessed by the legacy left by our parents Frank and Mary Kaiser and how they taught us to live and move in the spirit and presence of God.
