Obituary of Mary Lucille Lundrigan
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our mom, nanny, and great nanny, Mary Lucille Lundrigan, which occurred at the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow on October 30, 2021.
Mom was born on November 11, 1935, to the late Walter and Eva Samson. She lived most of her life in her beloved and beautiful fishing village of Petit de Grat, Cape Breton. There was always a pot of tea brewing on the stove, a plate of sweets at the ready, and a seat at her kitchen table for her family and good friends. Mom loved a good game of cards, playing bingo as well as knitting and crocheting. Many of us were recipients of her famous afghans, tablecloths, doilies, and dishcloths. Most of all, she loved her family with all her heart and we loved her.
Mom is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jo-Anne (Bill) Franc, her adored granddaughters, Shelley (Tom) Atkinson, Julie (Adam) Munro, Renée (Darcie) Handrahan, and her precious great-grandsons, Ewan and Lelan Atkinson; Jack, Henry, and Leo Munro. She was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Michael Joseph Lundrigan and her brother Freddie.
Mom was a very private person so as per her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Donations in Mom’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Nova Scotia.
We would like to thank the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish as well as the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow for their kindness and compassion shown to Lucille as well as her family.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to C.H. Boudreau Funeral Home Ltd., Arichat.
