Passed peacefully away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Health Sciences Centre. Predeceased by her loving husband, David Rogers; parents, James and Margaret Goff (nee Keough) as well as her brothers, Clarence (Carmel), James and Desmond (Pauline); her sister, Geraldine Power and niece Maureen Bennett. Leaving to mourn, her sister-in-law, Ruth Goff; brother-in-law, Bill Power; nieces and nephews, Margaret Ann (Jim), Paul (Bernie), Connie, David, Gloria, Sandra, Jimmy, Sharon (Bill) and Sean (Charyl) as well as her niece, Gerry Rogers (Peggy) who kept in contact over the years. Also, many great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
One of her biggest accomplishments which she was most proud of was her nursing career. After graduating from St. Clare’s, she worked at the Fever Hospital, spent a year as a nurse in New Jersey and the rest of her career at St. Clare’s from where she retired. She contributed much to the nursing profession and mentored many. She was an active member of the St. Clare’s Alumni and had life-long friendships as a result of her chosen profession. She cherished the memories of her life as a nurse and the many friends she made along the way.
Although we cannot mention all your names for fear of missing someone, there were many who kept in contact through the years to this day and for that we say, “thank you”.
Special thanks also to Celeste (Tom) and Angela (Myles); there were many good times as couples and again, fond memories.
Also, thanks to the staff at Tiffany Village for their care and attention.
Resting at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation on Thursday from 7-9 pm and Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will take place at 9:30am, on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from St. Pius X Church with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. For those unable to attend the Funeral Mass in person, it can be viewed online via tom0349.wixsite.com/streamingservices/cauls.
Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in Mary’s name may be made to Heart & Stroke Newfoundland and Labrador or to Daffodil Place.
