It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, Rhea Irene Fournier (nee St. Pierre). She was granted her angel wings on Sunday, December 27, 2020, when she passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North.
Preceded in death by her husband, Harvey (2003). Dear friend and companion of Gerry Brazeau. Loving mother of Gisele Beaudry (Mark). Cherished grandmother of Lauren-Ashleigh Beaudry (Christopher Mascioli). Predeceased by her parents Clorida and Arthur St. Pierre of North Bay. Dear sister of Rolande Bruyere (Wallace-deceased) of Quebec. Predeceased by her siblings Regis (Stella – surviving), Evelyn Renaud (Daniel), ¬ Royal, Mionne Blais (Arthur), Donald (Joan), Denise Turcotte (Don-surviving), Germaine Hummel (Don-surviving), Diane Vincent (Paul-surviving), and Conrad (Jean-surviving). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Rhea was born in North Bay where she enjoyed her childhood and early adult years. She was a dedicated employee of the Royal Bank, and retired as an assistant manager of their main branch in Sudbury. Rhea also gave back to her community. She was an active member of Holy Redeemer Church, where she was an active member of the C.W.L and volunteered at their food bank. Throughout her lifetime, Rhea touched the hearts of many with her genuine kindness and sense of caring. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be remembered as a compassionate person of the highest integrity. She loved completing crossword puzzles, which kept her mind sharp until the very end. A light of pure goodness has been lost to us all. A special thank you to the health care providers at Health Sciences North for the compassion and care they provided in her final days.
In light of the current coronavirus pandemic, a memorial is being planned for the spring of 2021. As a strong advocate for education, donations to the Rhea Irene Fournier Bursary to support local students’ post-secondary education will be graciously accepted through the Lougheed’s Funeral Home.
