Obituary of Martha Hann
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Martha Ellen Hann announces her passing on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 94 with her loving family by her side. Born in Burnt Islands, NL, she was the daughter of the late John and Susanna (nee Herritt) Fudge. Martha was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her children; Gail (Melvin) Northcott and Jack (Amanda) Hann, grandson, Cameron Hann, who was her pride and joy, sister-in-law, Jean Hann, and a large circle of nieces, nephews and friends. Martha was predeceased by her husband, Emanuel Hann, sister and brother-in-law, Corella (Wilson) Keeping and brother and sister-in-law, George (Florence) Fudge, sisters and brother-in-laws, Camella (Peter) Jackson, Leona (John) Meade, Ralph Hann, Douglas (Daisy) Hann, Jabez (Dorothy) Hann and William (Mary) Hann.
Martha was an active member of the ACW, past member of Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion and Orange Lodge Member.
The family will be receiving family and friends on Saturday, January 30 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James Anglican Church with Rev. Jane Allen officiating, interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations may be made to St.James Anglican Church Fund or Dr. Charles LeGrow Health Centre Foundation.
