Marlene Thiboutot passed peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday, October 29, 2021 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of Rheal (Ray) Thiboutot, loving mother of Douglas Thiboutot (Kristina Powell) and Mark Thiboutot (Karen Ward). Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Justin, Lauren, Geoffrey and Sarah Thiboutot. Predeceased by her parents George and Borden (nee Parr) Burgess, her brothers Merton and Phillip and sister-in-law Mary Burgess. Marlene will be missed by her siblings Angus Burgess, Robie (Jean) Burgess, Charlotte Chapman and Deanna Mac Cumber (John).
Marlene was a Canadian Arm Force veteran, having served in Canada and France. She loved the game of curling and was an avid curler and she also enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords in her leisure time.
As per Marlene’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Private interment will take place at the Beechwood National Military Cemetery in Ottawa at a later date. Cremation has taken place at the Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland, Ontario. Arrangements are entrusted to the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St. E., Brockville, ON.
