Obituary of Marjorie Marie Somerville
SOMERVILLE – Marjorie Marie (nee Crocker) of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, January 22, 2021 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Walter Somerville (1984). Survived by her children Linda (Doug) Lammiman and Al (Sue) Somerville all of St. Thomas; by her much-loved grandchildren Greg Lammiman (Sarah Healey), Krista (Dave) Loughlin, Katie Somerville (Clayton Beams), and Sarah Somerville (Will Heyboer); by her dearly loved great grandchildren William, Joe, Naomi, Evan, Caitlyn and Noah; by her brother Lee (Bev) Crocker; and by her sisters-in-law Mabel, Marie and Muriel. Predeceased by her son Paul Somerville, and her brothers Jack, Art, and Ray. Marjorie was born in Yarmouth Township to the late Cyril and Frances Crocker. She farmed for many years with her husband Walt, enjoyed being involved with her community, was a member of the Union United Church UCW. Mom will be remembered for her great sense of humour and love of her family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 a private memorial service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be held at the Shawn Jackson Funeral Home, 31 Elgin Street, St. Thomas (519-631-0570) on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 11:00 am. Interment of ashes to follow in Union United Church Cemetery. For those unable to attend, a livestream will be made available on Marjorie’s tribute page on the funeral home website.
