Obituary
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Marion Agnes (Oliver) Leather on Friday January 1, 2021 at the Loch Lomond Village.
Born in Saint John on April 15, 1933, daughter of the late John A. Oliver and Isabel (Grant) Oliver.
Marion went to school in Saint John East and graduated from then Modern Business College. She lived in Toronto for a number of years. Marion was a very private person who loved animals. She enjoyed going to the Harness Races and watching equestrian and figure skating on TV. Marion loved music and the era of Bing Crosby, Dean Martin and Lawrence Welk. She was also a member of the Progressive Conservative Party and while living in Toronto attended their meetings.
Marion is survived by her sister Doris Oliver of Hampton; brother Burton (Margie) Oliver of Saint John; sister-in-law Margaret Oliver of New Maryland and over forty special nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Willie (Jean), Arthur (Shirley) and George; sisters Edna (Lewie) and Betty (Manford).
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the Loch Lomond Village for their care and kindness shown to Marion during her stay there.
As per Marion’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private burial will take place at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the SPCA Animal Rescue, Salvation Army or the charity of one’s choice.
