Obituary for Marilyn Maria Simmons (nee McConnell)
Passed away at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa on March 13, 2021 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of John for 68 years and loving mother to Grant (Lyn) and Janice Adams (Stephen). She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Kevin Adams (Kelly), Amy Chatten, Jake (Kristie), Lauren Clarke (Ryan) and very dear to her 10 great-grandchildren. Marilyn was born, raised and worked in Hamilton at the Hoover Company. The family moved to Burlington, then to Scarborough for over 30 years. The past 25 years she & John resided in Courtice and Oshawa. Very active in the Anglican Church, volunteer at L.H.O. and a sports enthusiast in bowling, curling and golf – 3 “holes in one ». Dancing to the “Big Bands » was a part of her social life as were the winters in Winter Haven, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church, Oshawa or to Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
