Marilyn Elaine Jacob January 17th 1947 September 2nd 2021

Rest in peace, Marilyn Elaine Jacob.
Loving mother, grandma, sister, daughter, friend and wife and, most importantly, gardener.
Words cannot describe how much you will be missed.
Marilyn Elaine Jacob was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan to Kathleen and Joseph Jacob. She was the eldest of 6 siblings and had fond memories of spending most of her childhood out on the family farm.
She graduated valedictorian from Gravelbourg Convent High School in 1965 before going into nurses training. She was part of the graduating class of 1968 at Grey Nuns Nursing Collage and went on to work as a nurse in La Ronge, Saskatchewan.
All her life, she was adventurous, loving and treated everyone like family.
Travelling was an important part of her life and she spent time travelling across Canada and throughout Europe prior to settling in British Columbia in 1980.
She worked as an ICU nurse in various cities across Canada, ending her career in Abbotsford B.C. when she was diagnosed with cancer in 2000. Throughout that time, she devoted her energy to patient care.
She loved nothing so much as nature and was an avid gardener who grew all manner of fresh fruits and vegetables. She also enjoyed spending time outdoors by walking her dog and was a cheerful member of Aldergrove’s dog walking community.
Marilyn was a strong Saskatchewan farm girl who fought hard in her battle with multiple cancers over the years. Thank you to Dr. Seimens, Dr. Shaikh, the BC Cancer Clinic and the Abbotsford Hospice Society for all the care you showed Marilyn during that time.
Marilyn is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Lokau (Wes Lokau) and Kendra Reger, as well as her dog, Bear. In addition, she is survived by her granddaughter, Emma Lokau, step-children Julie Sim (Benton Sim), Andrea Kruck (Rob Kruck) Chris Reger, and step-grandchildren Talon Henry, Kaiden Sim, Brodie Reger and Olivia Reger. Finally, she is survived by her sister Gloria Grill and brothers Sheldon, Rod, and Terry, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ken Reger, and her sister, Jacquie Jacob.
A memorial service will be held at Lutheran Emanuel Church in Aldergrove at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 18th.
