Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 08, 2021 at Lanark Heights Long Term Care at the age of 86.
Loving mother of Ursula Zeis. Cherished Oma to Jennifer McConville and Irene Pace and great-grandma (Omi) to Daphne, Lacey and Hugh. Dear sister of Eddie Kaiser and Barbara Leisgang of Germany.
Maria took great pride and pleasure in her work. She started working for Northern Electric in 1963 and graduated from College with her electronics degree in 1972. With that degree as an electrical draftsperson, Maria trained many new team members and was a dedicated and highly respected longtime employee of Northern Telecom. She loved playing cards, enjoying bending the rules, loved the sunshine and music. During her retirement years, she cherished the time spent with her family. Maria will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Maria’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the nurses on the seventh floor at St. Mary’s Hospital and the nurses and support team at Lanark Heights for their loving care.
Private cremation has taken place under the direction of the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Interment will be at Williamsburg Cemetery.
