After a long overlooked diagnosis, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend left this world with her family at her side while the rain softly fell from the clouds above to the earth below.
Two days before her death the local Goldfinch that Margaret admired tried to get into the house at the window and then the door. The next day he sat at the window beside her bed pecking at the window bidding its final farewell.
Margaret started her nursing career at Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg and then moved to various hospitals throughout the province as she accompanied her husband who was frequently transferred during his career. She went back to University with Sharon and got her Bachelor of Nursing degree, proud to share her graduation day with her daughter as they got their diplomas together.
Margaret loved gardening and flowers, feeding the birds and listening to them sing. A highlight was feeding and admiring many deer as they fed in our front yard while residing in Birds Hill Park.
She leaves to mourn her husband Victor, daughter Sharon (Anderson), son Cory (Debi) and family, granddaughters Kaitlyn (Roch), and Rebecca as well as great granddaughters Madelaine, Addison and Margot who she was thrilled to get to meet and hold her before her passing.
Also mourning her loss is our much loved Joanne who was like a daughter to us and her sisters Marion (Maryon) and Karen and brother Bob (Darlene).
Margaret was predeceased by an infant sister Kathy, brother Ivan, and her Dad and Mom Russell and Freda Tanasychuk.
As per Margaret’s wishes, she will be cremated; there will be no service.
If friends so desire you can make a donation to Cancer Care Health Sciences Centre or to a charity of your choice.
