Madonna Ryan, 86 yrs, passed peacefully away at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre, Port Saunders, after a lengthy illness on Monday, May 10th, 2021. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Tony (Annie), Rose (Fred), Lauren (Norbert), Philip (Janet), Ken (Julie), Daphane (Ken), Felicity (Stephen), and Clary, brother Gerald (Alice), sister Rosemary, along with a large circle of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, extended family and friends.
Pre-deceased by her parents Bernard and Marion Cheeseman, son Gerald and granddaughter Shara Spence.
Madonna moved to Port Saunders from Rushoon to teach school at 17 years of age. Madonna was a strong, fiesty and independent woman She loved music, flowers and time with family and friends. Her visit to Sainte Anne de Beaupre was a highlight for her.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Northern Retirement Home and staff at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre for their loving care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place.
The Ryan Family will be accepting visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Homes, Marystown on Friday, October 15th from10am – 12noon.
Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions this will be a walk through visitation. Everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the funeral home and masks are required.
Funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown on Friday October 15th, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Cemetery, Marystown.
In Madonna’s memory, in-lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to NL Heart and Stroke Foundation.
