Richard Claire MacPhee, 67, of Fort Saskatchewan, AB passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at home with his wife by his side, after a lengthy battle with lung cancer.
Born in Moncton, NB on August 11, 1954, he was the youngest son of Dora (Etter) MacPhee and the late Cecil MacPhee (2006), and beloved husband of Pamela Whispell MacPhee who cared for him as his nurse during his illness.
Richard has lived and worked in Alberta since 1977 but he always said NB was home. He worked in the woods, as a truck driver, and in the oil sands over the years. He enjoyed socializing with family and friends – telling jokes always with a smile and a laugh. Rest in peace dear brother.
In addition to his mother and wife, Richard is survived and sadly missed by his son, Justin MacPhee; siblings, Pauline Munro, Nancy Payne (Dalton), Gary MacPhee (Lou), Susan Chambers, Kathy Smith (Ron); many nieces and nephews.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by his daughter, Malanie MacPhee (2020), and brother-in-law, Maurice Chambers (2018).
Memorials to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
