Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved one, Luke Heber Gill, age 72 years of Mount Pearl, NL after a brief illness on Thursday November 18th, 2021 at L.A. Miller Centre, St. John’s.
He was born on Pinchard’s Island, and was raised in Newtown, Bonavista Bay. Luke spent 27 years in Labrador City, retired and returned to the island and settled in Mount Pearl.
He is predeceased by parents John and Gertrude Gill; infant brother Terry Lindbergh Gill; special niece Trudy Lynn Gill; sister Stella Simms; father-in-law Harvey Parsons; special nephew Ryan Parsons.
Leaving to mourn with warm and precious memories his loving and devoted wife Debbie; the apple of his eye, son Kieran; brothers Calvin (Patricia) of Newtown, Bruce (Joan) of Newtown, John (Louise) of Newtown; sisters Sarah Quinlan (Sylvester) of Holyrood, Margaret Vincent (Hughie) of Newtown, Cavell Simms (Glenn) of St. Patrick’s, Joanne Maddick (Donny) of Goulds; mother-in-law Carmel Parsons (Clyde Coish) of Ochre Pit Cove; brother-in-law Terry Parsons (Patricia) of CBS; several much loved nephews and nieces as well as a wide circle of other family and friends.
As per Luke’s wishes, cremation will take place. A service to remmeber and celebrate Luke’s life will take place on Friday November 26th at 2:00pm from Barrett’s Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John’s. To attend the service call 579-6007 from 9am-5pm daily.
