Louise Crouch Dills – of Knoxville passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the age of 95. She was of strong Episcopalian faith. She was a longtime employee of AT&T/Southern Bell and retired from there after decades of service. Afterwards she worked in communications at Fort McPherson for several years. Louise especially enjoyed camping and visiting with her good friend, Ralph Hancock, with whom she gathered weekly, to hear her friends and musicians make music.
Preceded in death by parents; spouse, Thomas Edward Dills; sons, Roger L. Hoover, Thomas J. Hoover, Lester N. Hoover; and brother.
Survived by son, George M. (Eartha) Hoover of Statesville, North Carolina; grandsons, Lester Neal (Amy) Hoover, Jr., Thomas Hollis Hoover, Brandon Hoover, and Dusty Hoover; four granddaughters; one great granddaughter; God daughters, Mae Hall, Shannon Chambers, Ora Mae Merritt, Hortense Sharpe and Yvonne Sharpe; God sons, Michael Sharpe, Terry Sharpe, and Jason Sharpe; special nieces, Janice (Homer) Compton and Linda (Lars) Larsen; special friends, Bill Tisdale and Barbara Geter.
Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at Bridges Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday at Bridges Funeral Home officiated by Rev. Michael Sharpe followed by a procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
