Lorne passed away peacefully at Brookfield Hospital, NL, with his only daughter Michelle with him by his side on September 16, 2021, at the age of 73 years.
Lorne was born to Job and Deborah of Hare Bay, NL. He married Chloe Keats of Dover, NL, on March 13 1970. The two were married for 50 years before Chloe’s passing on August 3, 2020, just 13 months earlier. Lorne and Chloe went on to have four children; Micheal (Heather), Michelle (Shawn), Blair (Karen) and Blake (Charlene). They later had four amazing grandchildren; Caitlyn (Evan), Jonathan, Jordan and Andrew.
Lorne’s happy place was when he was driving a tractor or a loader down the pit in Locker’s Bay. He spent many Winter’s ploughing snow for his many customers in Hare Bay and Dover. You would find him in his garage or outside around his garden where he would spend hours. Lorne didn’t stray far from home, that’s where he wanted to be and was always at his happiest.
Lorne was predeceased by his parent’s, and siblings; Lawrence (Ella), Sterling (Geraldine), Olive (Frank), Maisie (Hector) and Daisy (Wilson). Also with fond memories are his siblings; Claude (Elva), Geraldine (Don), Eva (Denny) and Lloyd (Marie). Also with fond memories are an abundance of nieces and nephews.
Thank you to all of our family who has been there for our dad during his sickness, and before in helping him with things he wasn’t well enough to do himself. There are many family and his friends who checked in on him regularly and truly helped him out when he was in need of something and because of distance we were not able to be there. We so appreciate it.
There will be a private service at a later date to lay our dad to rest in Hare Bay and by invitation only.
