Obituary of Linda Anne Nobes
Linda Anne Nobes, in her 74th year, of Port Colborne passed away on January 25, 2021 at St. Catharines General Hospital.
Linda fought a brave battle, but in the end, even though her heart was full of love, it was too weak for her to come home to us.
She is survived by her loving husband, and “Constant Companion” of 57 years Robert, her daughter Christine (Jim Hutchinson) and son Steven. Adored by brothers Allen, Brian (Vickie) and sister Karen (Mike). Special sister-in-law to Ruth Dagenais, Dorothy (Barney) Santarella, Herb Nobes (Heather), Alfred Ferrusi & Rob deSmit. Linda also leaves behind her many special (great) nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Isabel & Daniel Dagenais, brothers Denzel and Joseph, sisters-in-law Shirley Ferrusi and Sandra deSmit.
Linda was a proud Mom, who dedicated her whole married life to being a supportive wife and proud Mother. She loved her special dates with Bob for breakfasts out, casino dates, and drives through the country. She had a passion for baking and would compete with Christine to see who could be the better baker. Mom always won! Saturday nights won’t be the same for Steven, as he and Mom always shared a pizza and watched the hockey game. Her heart belonged to her family roots and her love for Otter Lake, Quebec and the Picanoc River will be forever in her heart.
Linda’s family would like to thank the Port Colborne Fire Department, EMS, Lucy & Derek at GNGH, as well as Shawna of SCGH who was with Mom when the family could not be. As well, thank you to the wonderful and dedicated physicians who helped us through this difficult process with compassion and care.
Due to the current restrictions, cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. There will be a celebration of this wonderful life in the future.
If so desired, memorial donations would be gratefully accepted by the family to “The Fill a Truck Toy Drive” -c/o Port Colborne Fire Department, 3 Killaly Street West, Port Colborne, ON L3K 6H1. Mom always believed in Santa!
