October 7, 1933 – December 2, 2021
Peacefully in her 89th year of life at the South Bruce Grey Health Center in Durham, On.
Survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, James Carter.
Loving Mother of Doug (Elaine), Greg (Kelly) and Patty (Floyd)
Fondly and loving remembered by her Grand Children Scott, Carrie, Debra, Kayla (Nairne), Kyle, Joshua, Cassandra, Timothy, Jake and Tiffany.
Along with her Great Grand Children Hailey, Loralee, Owen, Isabelle, Christian, Ethan, Callie and Colt.
Predeceased by her daughter Lynn, brother Del and her parents.
She will be greatly missed by her sister in law, Margaret, son in law, Brian, nieces, nephews and many family friends.
Lorraine loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed. She was always there to listen and offer advice either over weekly phone calls or personal visits. She was a generous, kind and special woman; who enjoyed crafts, ceramics, reading, sewing and spending time with her family. She loved children and was a Foster Mom for many years. She was known in the community as an avid hockey fan. At one time, President of the Grand Valley Minor Hockey Association. She would eagerly take the kids to hockey practices and games, cheering them on from the bleachers. The Toronto Maple Leafs were her team and she rarely missed a game. Cheering them on from her spot on the couch. You could watch with her but don’t interrupt the game. Lorraine will live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life for Lorraine will take place in spring 2022.
