Obituary of Leon Victor Bachynski
We are deeply saddened to announce that Leo passed peacefully on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the age of 84. Leo was born on the farm east of Punnichy to Mary and Alex Bachynski and was raised with his two siblings Dora and Olga. He married Sandra Brooks on April 23, 1960. Leo is survived by his ten children Lorna (Kevin), Murray (Kim), Doyle (Michelle), Darryl (Jodie), Ted, Sandy (Chadwick), Laura (Darrell), Loretta (Joel), Dale (Kim) and Leanne (Mike); grandchildren Tamara, Kyle, Nicole, Desiree, Ryan, Mathew, Shane, Jane, Cody, Owen, Dylan, Carlie, Halie, Tanner, Colten, Lacie, Kevin, Tyson, Paige and Brenna; and great-grandchildren Arlen, Rowan, Zayden, Nixon, Ada, Grayson and Elise. Leo is also survived by his sister Olga and numerous nieces and nephews, many who enjoyed time at the farm.
Leo was a quiet man but was well-known far and wide from his many years of farming, wagon trekking, his love of horses and working at the Auction barn. Wherever he went all you could hear was “Hello Leo!” It was like being with a celebrity. He loved country music and one of his favorite songs was “Orange Blossom Special”, once on the dance floor Leo could go all night. He would enjoy listening to the Saturday Night Get-Together party program on radio and his foot would be tapping.
Leo had a love of hockey and was an avid fan of the Montreal Canadiens. Hockey would always be on TV. He will be missed by all.
A private graveside service will be held for family at Assumption Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery in Wishart, SK.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Leon
Victor
