LEMIEUX Kenneth Aramand Joseph August 19 2021

Friends and family mourn the passing of Kenneth Lemieux, August 19, 2021 after a determined 3 year struggle with cancer. Ken maintained his love of humor and company throughout his illness and fought the good fight to the very last. There is so much to appreciate in Ken as a loving husband and father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather as well as a friend and mentor and there is too little room here to begin. First, as a Co-op fuel truck driver, Ken worked his way quickly through numerous learning curves in the lumber yard and offices to become GM of Borderland Co-op in Rocanville Sk from 1965 to 1990 and thereafter as GM for Federated Co-op in Stony Plain Alta where upon retirement in 2018 his skills as a project estimator were highly respected. Across the 3 prairie provinces Ken’s talent installing flooring was unmatched. Of special note however is Ken’s enjoyment of both his clients and his co-workers that will long be remembered for he laughed easily and often, was loyal, dedicated and lived by the golden rule. Family gatherings will not be the same without his joie de vivre and the genuine appreciation he felt for his family and friends. At 77, Ken is too soon gone.
Ken loved a building project and was innovative in his sheds and decks and up-cycling of materials. He was quite fond of transforming a wild nook into a quiet retreat surrounded by birdhouses and flowers. Truly, there was joy wherever Ken spent his “idle” moments.
Ken was predeceased by his sister Claudette in 1945, his father Omer, in 1995, his mother Ludivine in 2018 and the first love of his life, Pat in 2014. He leaves to mourn his treasured partner and camping enthusiast, Josie Westwell, his son, Darin and wife Lori of Gimli, his daughter Connie (Bischoff) and husband Murray of Beaumont, and Josie’s children. Grandchildren, Tyler(Kristen), Colton(Leanne),Trista(Andrew),Shaelyn, Nevada. Great grandchildren, Arianna, Raelynn(Colton and Leanne). 3 brothers, Claude and his wife Diane of Markham, Roméo and his wife Henriette of Winnipeg, Gerard of Winnipeg, and one sister, Mona Oakley of Peterborough, and numerous nieces and nephews who will certainly lovingly remember their fun-loving uncle.
Ken would want everyone involved with his care to know how deeply appreciative he was every day for the love, the compassion, and the extraordinary attention given him throughout this illness. A very special thanks is extended to the staff at Cancer Care for you were a special blessing!
A celebration of Ken’s life will take place at 10 a.m. September 25, 2021 at the Serenity Funeral Chapel in Spruce Grove Alta. All are welcome.
