Obituary of Lelia Piazza
Passed away suddenly at home on December 24, 2021 in Port Colborne, Ontario at the age of 81. Lelia was predeceased by her husband, Giuseppe “George”, her parents Duilio and Norma Zucchiatti, her sister Daniella Street and brother-in-law Larry Street. She is survived and will be missed by her children Rosanna Truelove (Steven) and Mark Piazza (Sandee). She will be greatly and deeply missed by her five grandchildren Alexander and Brittany Truelove and Zackery, Nolan and Erin Piazza. She will also be lovingly missed by her nieces Jennifer Graham (Richard), Allison Greenfield (Mike), and their families. She treasured the unconditional love, friendship and support she received from family, friends and neighbours.
Born in Udine, Italy on October 20, 1940, Lelia and her family immigrated to Canada in 1952 arriving at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia before settling in Port Colborne. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed preparing meals for family and friends who would always go back for seconds. She enjoyed being outside in the summer months tending to her flowers and entertaining on her patio. Her smile, kind nature and willingness to help others will be remembered by all those who loved her. Her fondest and best memories were of spending time with her five grandchildren who were her universe. She adored each one with all her heart.
Arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church on Friday December 31, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Wesley Woloszyn as celebrant. Due to COVID restrictions, attendance will be monitored for capacity, gathering limits will be enforced and facemasks are required at the Mass. Private Rite of Committal with Entombment will follow at Pleasantview Mausoleum. Due to COVID-19, the Visitation and Entombment will be private.
