Laverne Fryer-Thomas laid down for her final nap last week.
She was a beloved Grammy, Mother, Auntie, Sister, Daughter, and friend with, “that face everyone wants to talk to.” And she was a great listener, whether over a drink she served at the bar or a coffee she poured at the Union Hotel Restaurant.
Laverne and Diane, pre deceased, (Lonnie, Annalia (Erik, Matthew, Dakota, Quinn, Kael, Ayla, Lily) were raised in Sunningdale along with their brother Ed (Heather, Clint, Melissa) by her Mom Minnie (Albert).
Laverne was a social butterfly and always enjoyed a good laugh. She played softball for many years and those who knew her could attest that she was quite the pool shark. Laverne was a caring and compassionate woman who forged lasting friendships in all her social circles. Her nurturing soul saw her as the caretaker for many children throughout the years, including her cherished dog Airies. Laverne’s two best friends were her daughters Allysha (Aaron, Ever, Roy, Tommy) and Shanese (Cole). She was a loving and devoted Mom raising her girls in Sunningdale, spending her days volunteering at school and Saturday’s at the bowling alley, always their number one fan. Laverne was a creative woman who enjoyed crafting and sewing. Family, laughter, coffee and a good nap were the things Laverne loved most in life.
She requested no funeral service but the family will plan a celebration of life in the spring. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Laverne Elaine Thomas December 29th 2020..
