With the heaviest of hearts the family announces the passing of Lana Harwood at home in Timmins on 29 July 2021 at 55 years old. A beautiful, loving, caring and giving soul who saw greater beauty in others than in herself, Lana is now resting gently amongst those who have gone before her, with a peaceful heart and freed mind. Predeceased by two loving mothers (Suzanne Harwood (née Lemaire) in 1970 and Jeannine Harwood (née Chartrand) in 2017), Lana leaves behind two beautiful children, Eric Furletti (Désirée) of California and Marissa Furletti of Winnipeg, her adoring and devoted father Joe, sisters Judy Gillies (Len) and Sandra Harwood (Tom) of Timmins and brother, Jay Harwood (Sandra) of Ottawa, as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her beautiful soul. In a journey that had her explore life’s path through many destinations, Lana touched many lives and strived to help so many along the way. To the many who helped, showed love and opened their arms to her along the way, thank you. Lana will be missed as much as she was loved. As per her wishes and owing to COVID restrictions, a private family ceremony is being held to celebrate Lana’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
