After a short stay in hospital, Clifford Krebs of Fort Saskatchewan passed away at the age of 81 years. He is survived by his two sisters: Karin Kupsch of Barrhead and Sylvia Moysa of Edmonton; his sister-in law, Barbara Krebs; and nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Ben and Laura Krebs; brothers, Wayne and Morley Krebs.
After living many years on an acreage south of Fort Saskatchewan, Cliff moved to the Dr. Turner Lodge in Fort Saskatchewan in 2019 where he enjoyed a couple years of worry-free living and friendly companionship.
After graduating from high school, Cliff joined the Royal Canadian Air Force where he learned basic electronics and trained as a ground radar technician. This background opened up career possibilities for him. Further specialized training in DEWline equipment and communications technology allowed him to work in the NWT on a communication site and later on sites from Alaska to Greenland on radar and tropospheric communications. Eventually, he returned home and became a Journeyman Electrician.
Clifford was a skilled tradesman, self-taught in many areas well beyond electricity. He used his skills to build his own house, to maintain his acreage, to work as an electrician and general maintenance person. Most notable was his high standard of workmanship in whatever he did. He was a quiet man who treasured his independence and found solace and fellowship in his church.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held in the spring of 2022.
