Victoria “Vicki” Knight (nee Penchuk) passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2021, surrounded by her husband and children. Vicki was a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She had a warmth and kindness that made everyone feel special.
She was born on January 21st, 1934 to Alex and Maria Penchuk in Darling, Alberta. Vicki was married to Alan, her lifetime love, on May 12th, 1956. They were married for 65 wonderful years.
She lovingly raised five children while moving between six air-force bases around the world, and somehow also found time to be a seamstress on the side. After her children were older, she trained to become a library technician and worked at Ross Sheppard High School in Edmonton. Retirement didn’t slow Vicki down. She went back to school and graduated from Athabasca University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Her passions in life were family, sewing, travel, and gardening. She organized many family reunions and was the anchor of the family. She made beautiful kites and windsocks. Vicki and Alan enjoyed travelling the world and learning about different cultures.
She is survived by her spouse Alan, and children Kathleen (Ron) Provan, Denice (Rick) Stever, Peter (Maria) Knight, Don (Holly) Knight and David Knight, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Interment will be at Little Mountain Cemetery. The funeral service will be limited to immediate family.
