Obituary
Passed away on Wednesday, May 19th, after her courageous battle with lung cancer. Kimberley was the beloved wife of Vernon « Ron ». Cherished mother of Chris, Crystal (Wayne), and Tyler. Loving grandmother of Hope and Chase MacKinnon. Dear sister of Connie Schulz (Michael), Krista Kingelin, Shelley Gifford (Lloyd), Jackie McDonald (the late Tom), Clayton Battams (Tracey),Robin Battams (Jill), and Nicky Day. Proud aunt of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sister Debourha McComb. Kim will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends.
Kimberley was born on December 15th,1957 in Kingston Ontario, into a large and loving family. She grew up to be a self-reliant woman, working full time, living independently, and attending school full time, at the age of 16. After marrying the love of her life, she found success working a 25-year career as a PSW with Red Cross. Later in life, she opted for a more flexible work schedule, by creating her own flourishing cleaning business.
Kimberley’s true calling was raising her children. Her selfless mothering and unconditional love were one of her most prominent distinctions. She brought her family joy and received fulfillment through those acts of care and kindness. Her greatest delight was often the time she spent with her grandchildren. Although she was taken away too soon, she managed to create an unlimited supply of happy memories for her family to hold dear.
Kimberley was a light in this world. Bringing and creating smiles wherever she went, and she went everywhere. An explorer at heart, Kimberley loved tropical adventures under the sun, to camping in the deep wilderness. She was an early riser who enjoyed many walks on the beach and long hikes in the woods. Kimberley was always moving, enjoying everything, from the big, to the mundane. She loved nature, often identifying birds by their sounds alone. Ducks and wildlife flocked to her lakeside home for food and respite. Kimberley lived a rich and fulfilling life in her short 63 years.
The family would like to give thanks to Kimberley’s Doctors, Palliative team, and Hospice Huntsville, for their kind, continuous guidance, throughout this difficult journey.
