Kevin Moran 2021

Obituary
Kevin Joseph Moran
1959 – 2021
It is with great sadness that the family of Kevin Joseph Moran announces his passing, at home, on December 16th, 2021 following a heroic battle with cancer. Born in Chatham on October 12, 1959. Kevin grew up on the family homestead in Weldfield. He loved raising his children on the Moran Road, a cherished place where Kevin would often go for long walks in the woods, play baseball with friends and family in the fields and take the little ones skating on the frozen ponds in the winter.
Kevin was so much to so many and will be forever missed by those whose lives he has touched. He made friends wherever he went, thanks to his easygoing, gentle nature, great sense of humor and infectious laugh. He was a loyal employee at DEW Engineering where he worked for more than 20 years as a Supervisor. Kevin cherished the wonderful friends he made during his time there.
Kevin loved his children and grandchildren and always put their needs first. He shared his love for farming with his family and was happiest being outdoors spending time behind the wheel of his tractor, working the fields, preserving the efforts, hard work and sacrifice of his ancestors who came before him. A faithful steward of the land he grew up on, he has passed the torch to the next generation by sharing his wealth of knowledge of agriculture and farming.
Kevin leaves behind his wife, Martha (MacDonald), children Brad (June), Jaclyn (Gustavo), Scott (Kelly), Kimberly, Adam (Kate), Jamey and Vanessa. Also, his grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Kevin, Damon, Summer, Sofia, Giulia, Madalin, Lydia, Sara, Harper, Mia, Cohen and Aleeya. He always made them feel special and were the apple of his eye. Also, his loving brothers and sisters, Jean MacDonald (Douglas), Evelyn Cavanaugh (Arthur), Margaret Moran Glidden (John), George Moran (Margaret), Kenny Moran (Colleen), Patsy Murdoch (David), Diane Corcoran (Danny), Michael and Wayne Moran (Mary). Also survived by several aunts and uncles, many nieces and nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by his dear daughter, Celine, his parents, Benjamin and Nellie Moran, sister, Kathleen, brothers Gerard and Byron and niece Kathy and several aunts and uncles from the Moran and Dignam families.
Kevin was a kind, generous and humble person, a steadfast friend, a loving husband and a family man in the greatest sense. He was the example of what great fathers are: understanding, fair, loving, kind and brave in the face of adversity. Despite the hardships he endured throughout his illness, he endeavored to make those around him feel at ease and comfortable. Kevin never gave up – his guiding light were his loved ones and we are forever grateful for the lessons of courage and unconditional love that he has taught us.
A PRIVATE funeral mass will be held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrant. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery later in the spring.
