It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Wayne Wilson, AKA Willy as most of us called him, on June 30, 2021 at Whitehorse General Hospital.
Ken fought a brave battle with cancer, after losing his leg from the knee down to diabetes.
Ken is lovingly survived by his 5 children, Leanne Wilson of Sarnia Ontario, Halley Wilson of Wilkie, Saskatchewan, Donna Wilson of Saskatoon, Keltie Wilson of Kindersley, Saskatchewan, and Colin Wilson of Unity Saskatchewan. Ken is also survived by his 2 brothers John Wilson of Wyoming, Ontario, and Dave Wilson of Chatham, Ontario. He loved you all very much, and there was not a day Ken didn’t miss any of you from across the miles. Ken is predeceased by his parents Colin and Hilda Wilson.
Ken lived here in the Yukon for well over 30 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, checking out garage sales, and going for drives. Ken loved to tell stories and jokes to anyone who would listen, some would make you blush. He would take the shirt of his back if he thought you needed it, or drive for 6 hours if you needed saving. Ken made many, many friends in his years living here and many became more like family then friends. Ken will be incredibly missed by all of them.
Willy you will always hold a special place in our hearts, you will never be forgotten.
Many thanks to Dr. Morash, the nurses and staff at the Whitehorse General Hospital, and to all the friends who helped and supported Ken during his illness.
There are no arrangements made at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the cancer society (www.cancer.ca/), or the Diabetes Association (www.diabetes.ca/).
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Kenneth Wayne Wilson April 19 1957 June 30 2021..
