Kearns, Walter Reginald

Walter Reginald Kearns passed away peacefully at Father Lacombe Long Term Care in Calgary, Alberta on November 16, 2021.
Born in Meaford, Ontario, Walter was the only son of Gertrude Kearns (nee Bowles) and Reginald Matthew Kearns on August 31, 1925.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Jeanne Kearns (nee Stitt) and by his three sisters, Beatrice May Kearns, Marion McNair (nee Kearns) and Velma Thompson (nee Kearns).
Walter was the loving father of Margaret Ruth Pichnej (nee Kearns) of Calgary, Alberta and Douglas Walter Kearns of Meaford, Ontario and grandfather to Paige Elise Hilderman of Montreal, PQ and Alison Danielle Hilderman of Calgary, AB and a great granddaughter Ella May Andrusyshyn of Calgary, AB.
Walter and Jeanne Kearns owned and operated their farm on the 9th line for many years as well as owned and operated Kearns’ Residential Home (group home) for 30 years. They travelled extensively in Canada and the US, enjoying many vacations with family and friends.

A private service will be conducted at the Olivet Baptist Church in Meaford on Saturday, November 27, 2021. A service of committal and interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Meaford. Due to the Covid-19 rules and restrictions, attendees must have had both Covid-19 vaccinations and masks are mandatory.
