Kathleen Bannister
1925-2021
From the banks of her beloved Pollett River at the
Jordan LifeCare Centre, The Glades, NB to the « Far Side Banks of
Jordan », Kathleen Bannister, 96, formerly of Elgin, NB passed
away on Saturday, November 27, 2021.
Born on May 12, 1925, on Gowland
Mountain, NB, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Minnie
(Marshall) Harrison.
Married for almost 64 years to the late Hilyard

grandmother. A homemaker, we remember Mom’s delicious meals,
especially the chocolate cakes made weekly for dad!
Kathleen was a faithful member of Elgin Baptist
Church, a life member of the WMS, and a former member of the Elgin
Women’s Institute.
Kathleen is survived and missed by her daughter
Myrna (Kenneth) Martin of Petitcodiac and her son Stephen (Debbie)
Bannister of Elgin; grandchildren Kenda Martin, Nicholas (Melissa)
Martin, Jarrette (Sarah Jane) Bannister, Justin (Lisa) Bannister,
Christy (Scott) Hoyt, Kelly Terris, and Shauna Terris;
great-granddaughters, Charlotte, Olivia, and Bridgette; sisters-in-law
Marion Harrison and Helen (late Robert) Chandler; a special cousin,
Alma Steeves, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. The last
surviving member of her family, Kathleen was predeceased by brothers
Alfred (Margaret), and Edwin (Edna); sisters Ella (Russell) Nowlan,
Mildred (Cecil) Colpitts, Amy (Austin) Colpitts, and Myra (Clarence)
Shaffer; step-father George Babcock, and infant half-sister
Edith.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family
service will be held. Arrangements are in the care of Salisbury
Funeral Home (372-4800). Interment at the Elgin
Cemetery.
Special thanks to Dr. Rick Morton and the staff of
the Jordan LifeCare Centre for the wonderful care given to Mother over
the years.
If desired, donations to the Elgin Baptist Church
or Jordan LifeCare Centre would be appreciated by the
family.
