Beloved mother of Timothy (Susanne) Muzzell of Chesley, Victoria (Michael) Green of Prince George B.C. and William John (Betty) Muzzell of Owen Sound, Stepmother of George McBeth and Elizabeth McBeth. Much loved grandmother of Michael (April) and Jonathon (Alisha) Green, Sheena Rae (Dolan) Phillippe, Makenzie and Liam Muzzell, Christian Bilodeau and Madleine Hunt. Great Grandmother of Everly and Henry Hunt, Lily May and Taylor Fuson. Katherine will be greatly missed by siblings Isabell Simpson, William A. Wright (Edie), James Wright (Shirley), Donna Brodie-Wright, Ronald Wright (Barb), Murry Wright (Betty), Jackalene Brown and Brother-in-law Norman Reid. Special Aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by siblings Gordon Strathy (Doris), Douglas Strathy (Margaret), Patricia Reid, Linda Carleton and Stepson Steven McBeth.
Katherine was born in Owen Sound, Ontario and was a caregiver for many people all her life. She helped raise her siblings and assisted her grandfather William Henry Wright, (who was a doctor of herbal medicine). She attended nursing college and worked at Durham and Markdale hospitals with many stories from working the night shifts. She worked at the MDS lab in Owen Sound and then as a receptionist at the doctor office at Alpha St. in Owen Sound. Katherine also worked in nursing homes in Palmerston, Ontario and Prince George, British Columbia. She ran Kath-Can Janitorial Service and enjoyed working with Canfor Industries for several years in Bear Lake, British Columbia. Another job she loved was at McLeod Lake Native Band in British Columbia, where she met and worked with many wonderful people. During her journey in life, she was the type of person to help everyone and believed in making the world a better place. Katherine loved reading, gardening, painting, beekeeping, baking and spending time with her family. Later in life she lived in Owen Sound with her son William and family and enriched their lives by being with them. If you want to honor Katherine’s life spread happiness, kindness and help one another; because that is what she did. Thank you for being such an amazing Mom, Gramma and Great-Gramma. Rest in peace sweet Mother, you are at rest with Jesus. Katherine, we love you now and forever.
