Obituary of Karlene Effie Ryder-Ramsay
The death occurred peacefully on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 of Karlene Ryder-Ramsay (nee Horne) of Charlottetown, formerly of Bloomfield. The wife of the most devoted husband Winston Ramsay. Loving mother of Colleen Ryder (Joe Mitchell), Wade Ryder (Darlene), Darron Ryder (Robyn) of New Jersey and Robert. Most adored grandmother of Connor McLean, Keegan Mitchell, Alecia Ryder, Brandon Ryder and Grace Ryder. Most cherished great-grandmother of Violet Koughan and special cousin and friend Wayne Bell.
Karlene will be most remembered for her kind heart and never give up attitude. She brought so much joy and laughter to all who met her and was singing until God needed her home to sing with the angels.
Karlene was predeceased by her parents George and Doris Horne, brother Lee Horne (London, Ontario) and foster brother John MacIntyre.
Special thank you to the staff at the Atlantic Baptist Home for being her other family for the past 8 years and to Unit 2 at the QEH for the kindness and respect they showed throughout this difficult time. Also to Dr. Kirk, Dr. McNally and Dr. Hartman for their exceptional care and kindness.
Resting at Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford. Due to current restrictions, a private family funeral service will be held. No public visiting hours will be held.
Interment will take place later at Sherwood Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Lennon House or the PEI Humane Society.
