Obituary of Karen Marie Sworik
Sworik, Karen (nee Bialkowski)
Karen Marie (Bialkowski) Sworik, born June 23, 1955, in London passed away suddenly at her beloved Springstone Estate outside Thorndale on the afternoon of December 6, 2021. Beloved wife of Bruce Sworik, from high school sweethearts to best friends and forever soulmates. Greatest mother ever to her three treasures Dylan (Sarah), Juliane (Isaiah) and Alex (Amanda). Her greatest loves were her grandchildren Logan, Austin, Jackson, Cesare and Margot. A lifelong Londoner whose parents were war immigrants from Poland and Scotland. Karen grew up with core family values: home, good food, and a patron for helping others. Karen’s constitution was family first (Karen second). A proud east ender, Karen met Bruce at Clarke Road Secondary School and continued her education at Western University on a scholarship. Karen was busy with a young family and helping daughter Julie, who was born profoundly deaf, to speak and communicate in a normal life. Karen began teaching and became a special Ed teacher putting the « special » in special Ed throughout the primary grades in the Catholic School Board finishing her career at St. Mary’s. Karen was the matriarch of family, glue to her Bialkowski family and dedicated to her Sutton Select family which she joined for 10 years after retiring from her teaching profession. Karen will be deeply missed by her brothers Mark, Jullian (Wanita), Joe (DiAnn) and her sister Kathy (Lonnie) all of the Sarnia area. Karen was a giving soul and gave her huge heart to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the definition of selfless, her “silent” generosity had no limits. Karen had a love for her garden, nature, and was like a ‘Snow White » with her constant feeding of the birds. She loved the last 10 years of her life living in the country, where she made the warmest, welcoming home to all. Karen was quiet, called « squeekie » or « mouse », a modest woman was the Magic of Karen Sworik. She had all the qualities of a living Saint. May she rest in peace. Visitors will be received at John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street, on Friday, December 10th from 1-4 and 6-9 o’clock. Visiting will be held in 1/2-hour increments.
