Carrie Cope
February 10, 1959 – December 1, 2021
We are heartbroken to say goodbye to Carrie, our Mom, daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, friend. She died suddenly but peacefully on Wednesday December 1, 2021. Carrie grew up in Richmond BC and lived in many places in BC and Alberta. More recently, she found her happy place in the Foothills south of Calgary.
We will remember Carrie’s love for her children, joy in her animals, and her giving nature to her family and friends. She made tremendous efforts to make our lives better. Carrie worked hard and accomplished a lot in her life, hairdresser, car sales admin, realtor, bus driver, and jill-of-all-trades. She was a free spirit with a sense of style we all admired. We are comforted that she had many hours of contentment and happiness riding her horse through her forest. We’ll remember the simple pleasures we enjoyed with her – a shared meal especially if it included a German pastry, playing cards, visiting over coffee.
Carrie was predeceased by her parents, Dietrich and Haide Milbradt. She will be dearly missed by her children Lindsay and Sean Ewashen. Also mourning her passing are her brothers Peter (Annette) and Tony (Nan) Milbradt, and the rest of her family and friends.
We now turn our grief into gratitude for having had the privilege and pleasure to have had Carrie enrich our lives. We will treasure our memories. She was loved and will be missed.
A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.
