This morning we said good bye to a great man. Surrounded by loved ones, Jurgen passed peacefully on his own terms. Jurgen was a proud spouse, step-dad, father-in-law, grandfather to our three children, brother, brother-in-law and friend. True to the person he was, he did what was best for him with courage and resolve and did not allow cancer to determine his fate. He went on his terms and in his time. We celebrate his life. The lives he touched that will forever be changed by his absence and the beautiful love he shared with his soul’s mate, Karen Jones for the last 38 years is a testament to his legacy. We will cherish the memories shared as a family. We will always speak his name and look to the sky for a sign he is with us in spirit. Jurgen will be missed by those who got the ability to get close to him, that wasn’t something he gave away to simply anyone. The last conversation I had prior to his brief fight with cancer, was that I was the daughter he always wanted but never had. That was Jurgen. When he loved you, you knew he loved you. It was a gift reserved for those who were worthy. Jurgen, I love you. We love you. I have been pacing for days knowing this moment was coming. We will keep Karen in our love and continue to support her in your absence always and forever.
