Juliet Mary Tattersall
February 10, 1944 to October 15,2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce that Julie Mary Tattersall (nee Crane) passed away October 15, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her children Jane, Jennifer (Bryan), and Jaclyn; her granddaughter Lola; siblings David Crane (Francoise), Richard Crane (Mary, deceased), and Vicki Hamilton (George).
Julie was born in England and emigrated to Canada with her family aboard the Queen Mary in 1948.
At a young age she found her way into the horse world through working and riding at a local barn and turned this passion into a life-long career. As a much-respected horsewoman, she was involved in many facets of the equestrian industry, as a rider, trainer, coach and breeder of thoroughbreds, Welsh ponies and hunter-jumpers.
Julie truly cherished all of the relationships she made through the stables she managed and the students she coached. She held fond memories of every stage of her career and the people she met along the way. A fixture at horse shows across Ontario for over 35 years, she passed her love of horses onto her three daughters who continue to be involved in the sport.
Upon retirement from training and coaching, Julie found the time to indulge her love of music, theatre and books, and spent much time with her beloved dogs, taking long walks around the farm and fields.
A Celebration of Life is being planned, details to be posted here shortly.
For those who wish, donations can be made in Memory of Julie Tattersall to Princess Margaret Hospital, Southlake Foundation or Danny and Ron’s Rescue.
