It is with profound sadness that the family of Julienne announce her peaceful passing following a lengthy battle with cancer on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the age of 43 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her mother, Josefina, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Julienne was born an only child in Dupax del Sur, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. She graduated at Technological Institute of the Philippines, in the city of Quezon City, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce with a Major in Management. For several years she worked at Robinsons supermarket in the Philippines as a Department Head for Metro East, before she landed a job at Lucky 97 supermarket as cashier in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in May of 2010.
She had a beloved dog named Asher that was her baby. She loved to do cross-stitching; even when she was very sick, she continued working on her project, but unfortunately she grew too ill to complete it. Julienne was a compassionate, helpful, loving, caring and generous daughter, niece, cousin, co-worker and friend. Throughout her battle with cancer, she kept her pain and suffering to herself because she didn’t want her mother to worry about her. She put the feelings of others before her own and was truly selfless.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street NW, Edmonton. All attendees will require proof of ID and COVID-19 vaccinations, or a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Royal Alex Hospital, Westview Hospital, Grey Nuns Community Hospital and Pilgrims Hospice for their care and compassion.
Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Julienne Castaneda 2021..
