Obituary
Granatier, Julia Jessie
December 13, 1922 – January 20, 2021
Surrounded by the love of her family that she cherished with all her being, Julia Jessie Granatier (nee Padar) took her last breath on the morning of January 20, 2021 at the age of 98 years. Grandma, or Aunty Julia, as she was known by many, was welcomed in heaven by the love of her life, Ernie, and siblings Mary, Annie, John, Steve, Rosie, Lizzie, Ivan, Frank, and Helen. Left to honour and cherish her memory are her son, Harvey and Donna and family: Lisa, Kelly, Dylan and Jessica; Melissa, Chris, Hannah, Eva and Mya; Troy, Amanda, Blake and Alexis, her daughter, Beverley and Don and family: Cora Lee, Mike, Cody, Cruze and Mikayla; Chad, Amanda, Brady, Tyler and Hailey, her special niece, Eldora, her sister, Christina and many nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to name but all of whom she dearly loved. There was nothing Grandma enjoyed more than being around family and friends, sharing memories of her early years on the farm near Lestock, playing a game of cards, singing and dancing to Ernie’s music or bragging about her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. We would like to thank all the friends and family who brightened her days with phone calls this last year when those in-person visits she truly cherished were not possible. We invite you to send your favourite memories of Grandma to grandmagranatier@gmail.com and we look forward to sharing them with everyone when circumstances allow us to all gather together and celebrate her life as she would want us to – filled with faith, family, friends, stories and laughter. Until then, say a prayer, do something kind, hug a loved one or raise your glass in a toast to her – we all know she would love that. For those who wish to do so, donations in memory of Grandma can be made to the Knights of Columbus Foundation as follows: Sask K of C Charitable Foundation, Box 61, Moose Jaw SK S6H 4N7). ‘A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest,
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Leaves and flowers may wither, the golden sun may set,
But the hearts that loved you dearly are the ones that won’t forget.’
