Bowins; Judy Mary Ann
Peacefully, surrounded by family at Meaford Long Term Care, on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in her 74th year. Beloved wife of the late Wayne Bowins married in 1970. Loving mother of Daniel of Barrie & Nancy and her fiancee Rob Butchart of Paisley, Adored grandmother of Dwain, Gregory, & Vani. Loved and remembered by siblings Lucille Kerr of Oakville, Russell (Ginny) of Bracebridge and Sister-in-law Velda of Dundalk. Missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Judy is predeceased by the love of her life, Wayne, parents Willard, Mary & step mother Victoria, brother Edward, infant brother David, Father-in-law Clarence, Mother-in-law Sarah, brother-in-laws Robert Kerr, Gordon (Evelyn), James (Audrey) sister-In-law Florence Robinson (Mel).
Born in Shelburne 1947, Judy was the youngest of 5 children of Willard & Mary Jack. Sadly, Mary passed away when Judy was just a few days old. Judy was raised by Victoria Boone (Granny to the Grandchildren). Judy attended a 1 room school house outside of Hopeville and then went to High School in Dundalk. She met the love of her life when she was waitressing in Dundalk (they may have shared a laugh that cost Judy her job). Judy & Wayne were married in June of 1970, had Dan in October 1971, and Nancy in April of 1975. Wayne & Judy loved to spend time with their family and friends, and one of their favourite pastimes was dancing. Whether the music was playing on a record in the living room, or live at a dance, they would spend hours on the dance floor. After Wayne passed in 1994, Judy volunteered with the Optimist Club, helping to put on events for all ages in Markdale. Judy had a talent for sewing, knitting & crocheting and each year the children could be guaranteed to have a new sweater knit for them. When Judy became a Grandmother, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Every summer she would have Dwain & Greg visit from North Bay for a week, and loved going exploring with them. Vani had the biggest cheerleader for her sporting events when Grandma was there. She loved to show her support & attend as many soccer & hockey games as she could. Over the years, Judy worked as a Bell Canada Operator, a supervisor at Terra Footwear, and as a cook/night staff at Rocklyn Academy.
