Obituary of Joyce Baird
Joyce Baird passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 21, 2021. Born on March 21, 1932, in Naugwigewauk, NB, the daughter of the late Helen A. Hopper (nee Smith). Joyce was the beloved wife for 65 years, of the late Ralph Baird.
Adored and much-loved mother of John “Jack” Baird (Edna Reid) of Charlottetown, Brian Baird (Mary Bishop) of Saint John and Joan (David) Gallant of Charlottetown. Joyce is also survived by her beloved sister and best friend, Joan (Doug) Sanders of Rothesay. She was predeceased by her sister Eileen (Stanley) Bell. In addition to her children, Joyce is survived by her grandchildren: Katherine Baird (Andrew MacCormack), Stephen Baird, Erin (Jason) Ernst, Michael Lacroix, Nathan MacDougall, Natasha MacDougall (Kurtis Agnew). Great-grandmother to Brianna, Kiera, Emery and Finley. Joyce leaves to mourn her special niece Anne (Daryl) Caines and nephew Blair Allaby. Surviving Joyce are nieces and nephews: Mary (Alyre) Savoie, Jimmy Bell, Janice MacAdam and David Bell along with Sus relatives Keith and Shirley Fletcher.
Joyce was a lady of strong faith, a devoted prayer warrior and a member of Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Wallace Funeral Home, 34 Sunnyside Drive, Sus, (506-433-1176) from where a private family visitation will be held. Funeral service will be held from Trinity Anglican Church, Sus on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 11:00am. Private family interment will take place in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Smithtown.
