LIBBY, Joyce It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Joyce, surrounded by her family on Friday, November 26th, 2021 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
We are comforted in knowing that she is reunited in heaven with her one true love, Ralph Libby, predeceased in 1982. Loving and devoted mother of Peter Libby (Jocelyn), Janet Libby, Joanna Christie (Scott), and Sarah Hancox (Simon). Cherished grandmother of Daryan, Rhys, Jesselyn, Liam, Dylan, Lucas, and Lilli. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Grace Stanyer and her grandparents “Mom” and “Dad” Anderson who raised Joyce after her mother passed away at a young age. She will be sadly missed by her brother David Stanyer, as well as many cousins who were like siblings to her. She will be sadly missed by her entire Deer Lake family whom she held so close to her heart.
Joyce Libby was a Legend! Born on August 30, 1947 in Parry Sound. She was a proud farm girl while being raised in Kipling, Ontario. Once married, Joyce started her family in Naughton, before living in Blind River, and then eventually found her way to St. Catharines. Joyce was known for her quick wit, the best one-liners and was always the life of the party. She was kind, and always made everyone she met love her, whether it’s a dear family member, or the clerk at the grocery store. Family was everything to her and she was happiest when spending time with family and friends and making happy memories on Carlson Island.
She leaves us with a void in our hearts that cannot be filled, but enough memories to last a lifetime.
Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch Street, Sudbury) on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at 1 pm. Friends may gather at the funeral home after 11 am on Saturday. Masks are mandatory. She will be buried alongside her husband in the Whitefish Catholic Cemetery. Donations to St. Catharines Community Care would be appreciated by the family.
