Obituary
NAHAIOWSKI, Josephine Ann, (Nee:Coyes)
October 20, 1927 – April 6, 2021
It is with profound sadness that the family of Josephine Nahaiowski who was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend announce her peaceful passing on April 6, 2021 at the age of 93 years. Josephine is survived and remembered by her loving family: her son David, daughter Judy Chalifoux, daughter Jean Heaton (Simon), daughter Mary Tetlock (Allan), son Michael (Crystal), and daughter Bernice, as well as 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She will also be dearly missed by her brother Samuel Coyes, her many nieces and nephews and their families, and all her friends and neighbors. Josephine was predeceased by her loving husband John, her brothers John and Tom, her sisters Irene, Madge, Mary, Kay, Margaret, Julie and Anne. Josephine was born and raised in Stony Plain. After meeting and marrying John, she moved east of Thorhild where together they worked the farm and raised their family. Josephine was an active member in the Ukrainian Catholic church. She was an excellent cook – whether it be her incredible cabbage rolls, perogies, bread, or freshly made donuts, the house always smelled delicious. She also loved to bake with her grandkids, who all cherished her teddy bear bread. She loved being outdoors, cross country skiing, gardening, playing games with the family, and doing chores where she could often be heard singing her favorite songs.
