Obituary for
Joseph « Joe » Tymkow
Joseph “Joe” Tymkow of Edmonton passed away peacefully on September 30, 2021 at the beautiful age of 90 years.
Joe is survived by his children, Brenda (Tom) Misisco of Lethbridge, Brian (Millie) Tymkow of Red Deer and Kim Tymkow of Vancouver; his five grandchildren, Michael (Jackie), Christie (Craig), Amy (Darren), Vanessa (Nelson) and Siobhan; his two great-granddaughters, Madilen and Stella; and his longtime companion, Judy.
Joseph lived his life to the last drop and he was so loved! This gentle, loving, supportive and wonderful man has left a permanent imprint on those who knew him and left pride in his family’s hearts.
Joe was passionate, proud and honoured to be the father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family. He has been a major presence in the lives of his children, grandchildren and also his friends as he was a proud member, mentor and sponsor of AA, having recently celebrated his 61 years of sobriety.
A lifelong resident of Edmonton and a die-hard Oilers fan, Joe spent his life as a hardworking and dedicated sheet metal worker with Local Union No. 8.
Upon retirement, Grandpa spent his days doing what he loved most, coffee with friends, visits with family, trips to the west coast and rounds and rounds of golf.
He had infectious laugher and sharp witted humour. Joe will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his compassion, unconditional love and loyalty.
The family would like to thank all the health care professionals at Touchmark at Wedgwood. We are sincerely grateful to the wonderful staff for their loving care and compassion for the last 12 years.
Joe loved you all like family. Thank you.
There will be a celebration of Joseph’s life on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. at St. Albert Inn, #156 St. Albert Trail, St. Albert, Alberta.
