It’s with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jorge Fernado Leon Luxardo of Hamilton, Ontario on Friday October 8th, 2021.
He was born April 6th 1929 in Valparaiso, Chile to Maria Elena Luxardo and Jose Miguel León. He was raised with pre-deceased brothers and sisters Ramon, Jose, and Cecilia. Jorge was married to Ana Luisa Peña, 1948. Jorge and Ana immigrated to Canada in 1975, where he continued his work in the mining industry along with other various occupations. Jorge played a pivotal role in ensuring his family soon joined him in his life and adventures in Canada.
Jorge had many passions in life, including singing, dancing, and soccer. Jorge was also involved in various multi-cultural organizations in each community that he resided. He left his mark everywhere he went with his voice; his tangos and boleros.
Jorge is survived and will be greatly missed by his children Maria, Fernando (Eliana), and Georgina (Victor), his grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild.

Visitation and Funeral service will be held at Bay Gardens Funeral Home – 947 Rymal Road East, Hamilton on Tuesday, October 12 at 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a private family Chapel service. Cremation will take place with a private celebration following the service.
