The family announces with great sorrow his passing in Sudbury on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at the age of 73 years. Son of the late Matthew and late Lilly (née Burt) Barnes. Beloved husband of Suzanne “Sue” (née Blais) Barnes. Loving father of the late Richard “Rick” (Josie) Barnes. Dear brother of Doris, Leander (Evelyn), Ruth, Gloria and Terry (Trudy). Predeceased by his brothers George (late Sharon) and Harvey (Lorraine). Cherished grandfather of Eric (Melissa), Shawn and great-grandfather of Amber and Logan. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joe enjoyed being outdoors gardening, golfing, snow blowing (often for his neighbours) and picking blueberries. He was an avid hockey and Habs fan. The family will receive relatives and friends by invitation only for a scheduled visitation at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury on Saturday, June 26, 2021. Due to the pandemic masks are mandatory and there will be a limitation on the number of attendees permitted at the funeral home.
