Obituary of Jon Anthony Hartlen
Jon Anthony Hartlen (Tony), 59, of Hampton, passed away on Sunday, December 5th, 2021, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family, Heather, Ashley & Kelsey.
Born in Saint John, to James Alexander Hartlen & Jean Anne Hartlen, Tony grew up in Hampton, a town he loved and never left. He met the love of his life there, Heather and proudly operated Hartlen’s Towing/Esso and Hartlen Homes. He was involved in the Auxiliary RCMP for over 25 years. He was fiercely passionate about helping others from the start and dedicated his life to both his family and friends.
Tony was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father. His knowledge and guidance were the foundation of his family and he was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a hero to his two grandchildren, Paityn and Landon. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with them. His passion for his job was evident at ASD-S and he felt so grateful to be surrounded by a great group of people. He was also a race car enthusiast, in his earlier years racing at Hammond River Race way bringing home the checkered flag on several occasions. There was nothing he loved more than hitting the snowmobile trails after a fresh snowfall.
Tony was predeceased by his father James Hartlen, his mother and father in law, Gwen & Bernard Monahan and his brothers Stephen Monahan & Gordon Norton.
In addition to his mother Jean, he is survived by wife Heather Hartlen, two daughters Ashley Chamberlain (Hartlen) & Kelsey Hartlen (Alexander Daley), his two grandchildren, Paityn and Landon Chamberlain, his aunt, Phyllis Carroll, brothers and sisters, Diane Carson (Barry), Rodney Monahan (Joanne), Carol Monahan, Barb Norton, Wanda Moran (Gary) and many nieces, nephews and friends.
