Obituary of John Stephen Roberts
Passed away peacefully in his 83rd year in Hamilton on October 31, 2021. Beloved husband of Ishbel for 61 years. Cherished father of Martin, Wesley and his wife Sharon. Devoted grandfather of Bethany and Josh. John is survived by his sister Ruth and brother Jim (Ruth) and by several nieces and nephews and their families. He is predeceased by sisters Shirley (2001) and Bernice (2015) and his brother David (2021). Also predeceased by brothers-in-law Robert (2004), and Gerald (2002) and by sister-in-law Shirley (2021). Fondly remembered by many friends and neighbours. John retired after 34 years of service in Dofasco’s machine shop. John was a man of strong faith and served as an active member and leader of Paramount Drive Alliance Church (formerly Delta Tabernacle), with a commitment to teaching, mentorship, board leadership and finally in a staff role as Executive Pastor. He later invested his time in the care of many seniors in need of compassion, support, guidance and advocacy. He was a cornerstone of his strong and devoted family, his extended family, and his church community. Special thanks to Dr. Karachi and the staff of Juravinski Hospital for the excellent care. Friends will be received at Paramount Drive Alliance Church, 1035 Paramount Drive, Stoney Creek, on Saturday, November 6th from 11-1 p.m. Funeral Service will begin at 1:30 p.m. and cremation will follow. Capacity is limited, therefore, registration for Visitation and the Funeral Service is mandatory and masks are required while in doors. If desired, memorial donations directed to City Kidz or Paramount Drive Alliance Church would be appreciated.
